Two weeks ago it was announced that the regular bus stops in front of the HIL-building at Hönggerberg would be temporarily relocated due to construction work. Now that the construction of the new building HIB has been delayed, the temporary stops can be better positioned to ensure the safety of bus passengers and pedestrians. Bus riders to the ETH Hönggerberg will also benefit from shorter walking trails and less road crossings.

The bus stops will be newly situated just behind the HIL-building (see map), effective Friday May 31 at 9 a.m.. For further safety, the road section between Einstein and the main entrance on Schafmattstrasse is only open to public transportation vehicles.

Pavements and ticket machines

The new temporary bus stops have been relocated to paved areas and are equipped with ticket vending machines. However, weather protection and extra lighting have been omitted to spare costs. Wheelchair users can take the passage through the HIL-building during open hours and pedestrians can cross through the HIL-building using the existing walkway.

Bus 69 and the "Science City Link" will load passengers off at the stop towards Höngg and remain in the waiting area for a short break. Here new passengers are welcome to board the bus. Access beyond the barriers is forbidden to protect the wild orchids growing in the field.

Construction work all summer long

Approximately two weeks ago the bus stops at ETH Hönggerberg had to be moved at short notice due to the ongoing construction work on the future student housing building. Wolfgang-Pauli-Strasse has been partial blocked to all traffic due to expansion of the excavation pit on this construction site. Construction work will last through the summer.
