The Safety, Security, Health and Environmental Protection Unit will offer fire protection courses again this year. In the theoretical part of the courses, participants learn how fires can be prevented. In the practical part, each participant learns what to do in case of fire and practises putting out a fire with a portable fire extinguisher and with a fire blanket.

The courses take place between 25 September and 23 October 2013 and last for about 70 minutes. They are free for members of ETH. In some study programmes, the course is compulsory for first-year students. These participants will be informed directly by e-mail.

The course site is about 10 minutes away from the tram stop “ETH Hönggerberg”. The courses take place out of doors and in all weather. Therefore, sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing are required. (No clothes made of synthetic fibres, as these may melt.) If you would like to take part in a course, please sign up here. On 3 October there are free places for a course in English. For further information or group registration, please call the SSHE course administration at 28002 (internal phone number).
